CG150 Cylinder Head without Valves
🏍️ Cylinder Head · Head Casting · CG150 Engine · Air-Cooled Engine Rebuild Part
For CG150 Air-Cooled Aluminum Cylinder · Without Valve Components · Requires Valve Assembly
This is the CG150 Cylinder Head without Valves, a replacement cylinder head for the CG150 air-cooled aluminum cylinder. Specifically designed for CG series engines, this cylinder head is suitable for motorcycles, ATVs, and various other vehicles, making it the ideal choice for engine rebuilds or performance restoration.
The cylinder head is one of the core engine components, forming the combustion chamber together with the cylinder block and housing the valve train components including intake/exhaust valves, valve springs, and valve oil seals. This cylinder head is a bare casting without valve components, allowing experienced technicians to assemble using original or new valve components to meet specific repair needs.
✨ Core Functions: Form sealed combustion chamber · House valve train components · Efficient heat dissipation · Withstand high temperature and pressure · Restore engine performance
💡 Note: This product is a bare cylinder head casting and does NOT include valves, valve springs, valve oil seals, or valve collets. For a complete cylinder head assembly, please select the version with valves. Valve components must be purchased separately or reused from original parts.

💨 Common Symptoms
• Loss of power, poor acceleration
• Coolant loss with no external leak (if applicable)
• Oil emulsification (milky appearance)
• White smoke from exhaust
• Engine overheating
• Low compression pressure
• Valve noise
🔍 Possible Causes
• Warped cylinder head surface
• Worn or burned valve seats
• Worn valve guides
• Excessive carbon buildup in combustion chamber
• Damaged spark plug threads
• Cracked cylinder head
⚠️ Important Note: Cylinder head issues typically manifest as power loss, oil burning, or low compression. If you experience these symptoms, inspect cylinder head flatness, valve seats, and valve guide condition. Replace the cylinder head if necessary.
🔧 Installation & Assembly Guide
Valve Assembly:
1. Install new valve oil seals using a dedicated installation sleeve, pressing them into place.
2. Insert valves into valve guides, being careful not to damage the valve stem or oil seal.
3. Install valve springs, paying attention to orientation (tightly wound end typically goes toward the cylinder head).
4. Install valve collets, ensuring they are fully seated in the valve stem grooves.
5. After assembly, check valve sealing (test by pouring kerosene or gasoline into intake/exhaust ports).
Cylinder Head Installation:
1. Ensure the engine is completely cooled and disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting.
2. Clean the cylinder block surface, removing old gasket residue and contaminants.
3. Place a new cylinder head gasket over the locating dowels on the cylinder block.
4. Position the cylinder head over the locating dowels, ensuring adequate valve-to-piston clearance.
5. Install cylinder head bolts and tighten in a diagonal pattern in 2-3 stages to specified torque (approx. 20-25 N·m).
6. Install pushrods, rocker arms, and other valve train components, then adjust valve clearance (Intake: 0.05-0.08mm, Exhaust: 0.08-0.12mm).
7. Reinstall related components, add fresh engine oil, and start the engine to check for leaks or abnormal noise.
Important Note: Cylinder head assembly and installation involve precision components. Professional installation is strongly recommended. Always use a new cylinder head gasket and tighten bolts to the specified torque in the correct sequence.
Proper break-in after installing a new cylinder head is essential for optimal valve-to-seat seating:
- Break-In Period: Recommended 500-1000 km (300-600 miles).
- RPM Control: Avoid prolonged high RPM operation during break-in; keep RPM below 70% of maximum.
- Load Control: Avoid hard acceleration, heavy loads, and steep hill climbing during break-in.
- Oil Change: Change oil after the first 300 km (180 miles), and again after the break-in period is complete.
- Oil Quality: Use high-quality mineral oil during break-in; switch to synthetic oil after break-in.
⚠️ Important Note: Improper installation or break-in may cause poor valve sealing, cylinder scoring, or other serious engine damage. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify your engine model and cylinder head specifications to ensure compatibility.
Note: This product is a bare cylinder head casting and does NOT include valves, valve springs, valve oil seals, or valve collets. For a complete cylinder head assembly, please select the version with valves.
Installation Caution: Cylinder head installation involves critical engine components. Professional installation is strongly recommended. Always use a new cylinder head gasket and tighten bolts to the specified torque in the correct sequence.
Recommended Parts: When replacing the cylinder head, it is recommended to also replace the cylinder head gasket, valve oil seals, and related seals to ensure rebuild quality. Product images are for reference only; actual product may vary.
