CG Cam Pin · Camshaft Locating Pin
🔧 Cam Pin · Locating Pin · Timing Pin · CG125/CG150 Engine · Valve Train Component
For CG125 · CG150 4-Stroke Engines · Camshaft Locating Component
This is the CG Cam Pin (Camshaft Locating Pin), a high-quality replacement for the valve train in CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines. Specifically designed for CG series engines, this pin is suitable for motorcycles, ATVs, and various other vehicles, making it the ideal choice for engine repairs or timing system restoration.
The cam pin (also known as locating pin or timing pin) is a critical positioning component between the camshaft and timing gear, ensuring precise alignment between the camshaft and timing gear for accurate valve timing. Manufactured from high-quality alloy steel with precision machining and heat treatment, this pin offers excellent strength and wear resistance, ensuring reliable timing positioning.
✨ Core Functions: Position camshaft and timing gear · Ensure accurate valve timing · Prevent relative rotation · Ensure proper engine operation
📌 Positioning Function
The cam pin is installed between the camshaft end and the timing gear. Through the pin-to-hole fit, it prevents relative rotation between the camshaft and timing gear, ensuring precise correspondence between valve timing and crankshaft angle.
📌 Importance
Though small, the cam pin is a critical positioning component in the valve timing system. Worn or damaged cam pins can cause timing drift, affecting engine power and potentially leading to valve-to-piston collision in severe cases.

💨 Common Symptoms
• Loss of power, poor acceleration
• Unusual engine noise (timing gear knocking)
• Valve clearance cannot be adjusted consistently
• Unstable idle
• Increased fuel consumption
• In severe cases, timing shift causing valve-to-piston collision
🔍 Possible Causes
• Worn or sheared cam pin
• Improper installation
• Loose mounting bolt causing excessive pin load
• Material fatigue leading to fracture
• Worn locating holes in camshaft or timing gear
⚠️ Important Note: Cam pin failure can cause valve timing shift and, in severe cases, valve-to-piston collision resulting in serious engine damage. If you experience the symptoms above, inspect and replace the cam pin and related components promptly.
This cam pin fits vehicles equipped with CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines, including but not limited to:
💡 Compatibility Note: This cam pin is suitable for CG125 and CG150 engines. During installation, it is recommended to inspect the locating holes in the camshaft and timing gear for wear, and replace them if necessary.

🔧 Installation Guide
1. Remove the right engine cover or timing gear cover to access the timing gear.
2. Remove the timing gear mounting bolt and remove the timing gear (note the timing marks).
3. Remove the old cam pin and inspect the locating holes in the camshaft end and timing gear for wear.
4. Clean the camshaft end locating hole and timing gear locating hole, ensuring no oil or contaminants remain.
5. Insert the new cam pin into the camshaft end locating hole, ensuring it is fully seated.
6. Align the timing gear with the locating pin and timing marks, and install it in place.
7. Install the timing gear mounting bolt and tighten to specified torque.
8. Verify that the timing marks are aligned to ensure accurate valve timing.
9. Reinstall the timing gear cover and start the engine to test operation.
Important Note: Ensure the cam pin is fully seated in the locating hole and the timing gear is properly positioned. Timing marks must be aligned; failure to do so will cause valve timing errors. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify your engine model to ensure compatibility.
Installation Note: Ensure the cam pin is fully seated in the locating hole and timing marks are aligned during installation. Improper installation or misaligned timing marks can cause valve timing errors, leading to valve-to-piston collision and severe engine damage. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
