CG Valve Washer + Clamp · Valve Collets & Shims
🔧 Valve Collets · Valve Clamps · Valve Shims · CG125/CG150 Engine · Valve Train Components
For CG125 · CG150 4-Stroke Engines · Valve Retaining Components
This is the CG Valve Washer + Clamp (Valve Collets & Shims), a high-quality replacement for the valve train in CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines. Specifically designed for CG series engines, this set is suitable for motorcycles, ATVs, and various other vehicles, making it the ideal choice for valve system repairs or performance restoration.
Valve collets and shims are critical retaining components of the valve train. Valve collets (also known as valve locks) are installed on the valve stem tip, working with the valve spring retainer to secure the valve spring in place. Valve shims are used to adjust valve clearance. This set is manufactured from high-quality steel with precision machining and heat treatment, offering excellent strength and reliability to ensure stable valve train operation.

💨 Common Symptoms
• Unusual engine noise (metallic tapping)
• Valve clearance cannot be adjusted consistently
• Loss of power, poor acceleration
• Poor valve seating, low compression pressure
• In severe cases, valve drop-out causing piston-valve collision
• Worn or damaged valve spring retainer
🔍 Possible Causes
• Worn or deformed valve collets
• Improper collet installation
• Worn or cracked valve shims
• Fatigue failure from prolonged high-RPM operation
• Damaged valve spring retainer
• Worn valve stem grooves
⚠️ Important Note: Valve collets and shims are critical retaining components of the valve train. Failure can lead to valve drop-out, piston-valve collision, and severe engine damage. If you experience the symptoms above, inspect and replace them promptly.
This valve collet and washer set fits vehicles equipped with CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines, including but not limited to:
💡 Compatibility Note: This set is suitable for valve system repair on CG125 and CG150 engines. During installation, it is recommended to also replace valve oil seals and valve springs.

🔧 Installation Guide
1. Remove the cylinder head and secure it on a suitable fixture.
2. Use a valve spring compressor tool to compress the valve spring and expose the valve collets.
3. Remove the old valve collets using a small magnet or tweezers, being careful not to lose them.
4. Slowly release the spring compressor and remove the valve spring retainer and valve spring.
5. Clean the valve stem tip and valve spring retainer seating surfaces.
6. Install the new valve spring and spring retainer.
7. Use the valve spring compressor to compress the spring, exposing the valve stem tip.
8. Install the new valve collets, ensuring they are fully seated in the valve stem groove with both collet halves installed symmetrically.
9. Slowly release the spring compressor and verify that the collets are securely seated.
10. After installation, check valve sealing.
Important Note: Valve collet installation requires specialized tools. Ensure both collet halves are installed symmetrically and fully seated in the valve stem groove. Improper installation may cause valve drop-out. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify your engine model to ensure compatibility.
