CG Camshaft Gear
⚙️ Camshaft Gear · Timing Gear · Cam Gear · CG125/CG150 Specific
Affordable Standard Quality Camshaft Gear · For CG125, CG150 4-Stroke Engines
This is the CG Camshaft Gear — an affordable standard quality camshaft gear specifically designed for CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines. This component is an important part of the engine's valve train, responsible for transmitting power from the timing chain or gears to the camshaft to control valve timing.
The camshaft gear is mounted on the end of the camshaft and meshes with the crankshaft timing gear via a timing chain or gears, ensuring precise timing synchronization between the crankshaft and camshaft. When the camshaft gear wears, has damaged teeth, or causes timing offset, it can affect valve timing, leading to reduced engine power and rough operation. Manufactured from high-quality steel with precision-machined teeth, this gear ensures accurate timing and smooth operation, making it an ideal choice for engine overhaul or valve train service.
✨ Core Functions: Transmit timing power · Drive camshaft rotation · Control valve timing · Ensure precise valve timing · Affordable replacement

🔄 Timing Transfer
Meshes with the crankshaft timing gear via timing chain or gears, ensuring precise synchronization between crankshaft and camshaft.
⚙️ Drives Camshaft
Transfers power from the crankshaft to the camshaft, driving camshaft rotation to control valve opening and closing.
🎯 Ensures Valve Timing
Precise tooth profile and installation position ensure valves open and close at the correct moments for proper engine operation.
🔧 Reduces Wear
Precision-machined tooth surfaces reduce friction with chains or gears, extending valve train service life.
⚠️ Symptoms of Camshaft Gear Failure: Engine noise (timing area), rough idle, power loss, poor acceleration, hard starting, timing chain skipping, valve timing offset. If these issues occur, inspect and replace the camshaft gear promptly.
This camshaft gear is compatible with the following engines and vehicles:
- Engine Types: CG125, CG150 4-stroke engines
- Vehicle Types: Honda CG series, Chinese-made CG series motorcycles, dirt bikes, street bikes
- Mounting Location: End of camshaft
- Applications: Engine overhaul, timing chain replacement, valve train repair, worn camshaft gear replacement
📌 Compatibility Note: This camshaft gear is designed for CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engine camshafts as an ideal replacement for the original timing gear. Pay attention to timing marks during installation to ensure accurate valve timing.
- High-Quality Material: Made from high-strength steel or powder metal with hardened tooth surfaces for excellent wear resistance.
- Precision Tooth Machining: Gear teeth are precision-machined for smooth engagement with timing chains or gears and quiet operation.
- Clear Timing Marks: Cast with clear timing marks for easy alignment during installation to ensure accurate valve timing.
- Standard Quality: Affordable standard quality design meets everyday usage requirements.
- OEM Specification Standards: Manufactured to CG125 and CG150 original specifications for perfect fitment.
- Essential Overhaul Component: Worn camshaft gears are a common issue during engine overhaul — this product is critical for restoring valve timing.
🔧 Installation Guide
1. Ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting.
2. Remove the valve cover and timing chain cover, and rotate the crankshaft and camshaft to align timing marks.
3. Remove the camshaft retaining bolt and take off the old camshaft gear (prevent the timing chain from falling into the timing cavity).
4. Clean the camshaft end and mounting surface, inspect the keyway for damage.
5. Install the new camshaft gear, ensuring keyway alignment, and tap gently into place.
6. Install the retaining bolt and tighten to the specified torque.
7. Check that the timing marks are realigned to confirm accurate valve timing.
8. Reinstall the timing chain, tensioner, valve cover, and other components, then start the engine and check for proper operation.
9. It is recommended to inspect the timing chain and tensioner for wear and replace if necessary.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify that your engine is a CG125 or CG150 4-stroke to ensure compatibility.
Installation Caution: Camshaft gear installation involves engine timing components. Align timing marks carefully during installation — failure to do so can cause valve-to-piston contact resulting in catastrophic engine damage. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
